After rough shaping the body, I commenced carving the scrolls on the body. The next three pictures were taken after I roughed out the top scroll, and most of the front portion of the bottom scroll. Here is a view with a pair of the larger chisels I used.

Here's the back of the headstock almost done. Only small refinements and final sanding needed, before finishing.. Well that is if I follow through adding one more spirangle scroll to the volute;. Decisions, decisions!
Here again is the front of the headstock, and because there are some maple accents in the the body and neck joint laminates, the headstock needed a few touches, so I added an accent to it, and there will be a little in the truss rod cover too.
Now to glue the neck in, so I can carve the transition between the neck and body and blend in the body scrolls to the neck joint. And so, we start a new page.
