Wow, I actually made this site:

Although I have experience with computers that goes back to before the internet, it has always been in the field of electronics, and not programing, which is something I have always had difficulty with.  I did create this site, but it's my resourcefulness that got me this far, and It would not be possible without the kind help from people on stackoverflow.com and sites like thesitewizard.com matthewjamestaylor.com and a few others, who pointed me in the right direction, and gave me clues.

If you are a web developer, then you may be able to see that parts of this site were done in a strange and roundabout way.  That is a product of what I had to work with, and how I figured out to make stuff work that I could not find simple or satisfactory solutions for.  I did not want to sacrifice my vision on how everything looks and behaves, and content management systems tried to squeeze me into boxes, I could not fit into.  For the most part I did pretty well, for a complete novice equipped with a text editor.

Work still needed:

A great amount of work is still needed where functionality is concerned, and from what I can gather, java script may be the solution, but that is something I have tried and toyed with, only to fail, here are some of them:

Because of my use of iframes, links to pages from outside of my site, by search engines and otherwise, do not open up surrounded by the parent pages, which messes up the view, and looses all navigation.  There is a lot of information out there that suggests java script, but all of what I have found is geared towards those that understand java, and the only java I know well is the kind I passionately drink.  I have tried to understand it to no avail, and it would take me years to learn enough to apply it successfully.  I am not trying to become a web developer, I just need this website to work a little better.  I already have my pallet overflowing with trying to get this business off the ground, finding clientele and building instruments and the shop... and money is not only tight but almost nonexistent for the moment.

Mozilla Firefox will not scroll down to links in an unordered list that point to sections of the same page.  According to them it is by design and a security feature, but their explanation makes no sense what so ever.  I noticed that the Firefox developers were acting like bully's and arrogant in their responses to others mentioning the same problem.  Here too, java script may be the only workaround.

I need help:

I have no problem admitting that I am stumped with this web-dev stuff, nor that I can not fork over money to get it done, all I can do is hope that someone is willing to help for free, or willing to accept barter.  Here is what I can offer:  Guitar, bass, mandolin... repair and advice, original custom graphics for your or your clients sites and documents, including logo design (one of my strong points), translation from German to English or from bad English to proper English and electrical work (have a degree) room renovation and light plumbing.

If you want to help just click on the contact link below, and fill out the form with a description of how You can help, and what you would like in exchange, and I will get back to you ASAP.  Thanks!
